To use this site, you must register with
the consortium. Registration is a one-time event, and requires that
you give us your contact information and choose a password. We will
use this information to set up an account. By default, your account
is private and will record your request history and status
information. Some investigators, however, may wish to allow others
to view their request list. For example, one may wish to share data
with ones supervisor or Principal Investigator. When you set up
your account, therefore, we will permit you to identify one other individual
who will be given permission to access your personal request list.
If you are a supervisor or Principal Investigator, you will be able to access
your personal request list, and the request information of those of your
students, staff, and post-docs who have explicitly given you permission to do
so. Unless you explicitly choose to allow for it, however, no
member of your staff will be permitted to view your personal request
list.
Once you have established an account with
the consortium, you may enter requests as needed for your research.
Note that we will only respond to requests for targets that are recognized
officially by the sequence curators at Wormbase as legitimate
genes. You should coordinate with the curators if your gene does
not fall into this category. Further, you should contact the
curators if you have information showing that the structure of the gene is
significantly different than what is reported.
